Since April 2025 we have a new project with a new partner in Guatemala. The project aims to strengthen women's leadership and empowerment while fostering new masculinities as allies in violence prevention efforts. The project targets two municipalities of El Quiché
Through a training program and a number of workshops, indigenous female community leaders will be equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to address and prevent violence in their communities.
As a result of the workshops, the women will be able to become multipliers of prevention strategies creating their own sustainable workshops within their communities strengthening their leadership and helping other women and their community.
At the same time, the project engages male community leaders in a formative process, exploring new masculinity models aiming to sensitize men on violence prevention against women, promoting the deconstruction of traditional gender norms that often perpetuate violence.
The project aims to train both male and female participants in being able to identify sexist and discriminatory patterns that lead to violence and working jointly as allies to address violence in their communities.
The project is planned to last 10 months."
