Arely has a MSC in Educational Research, UPNFM in Honduras (thesis on Human Rights education) and a Master in Psychology, UNAH in Honduras (thesis on Mental Health) Cand. Psyk. In Denmark. She has worked in the disability/rehabilitation and human rights field, with focus on trauma, violence-torture, with victims/survivors and their families. She has also been responsible of working in the Regional Platform for prevention of violence in Central America (CPTRT). Member of McGill Echenberg Conference Young Leaders, EQUITAS Human Rights (Canada) and EHAPS-Honduras. Arely works currently as a psychologist and ABA-supervisor in the Institut for Kommunikation og Handicap/Region Midt.
At Nunca Más she is providing technical input in relation to therapy and/or accompaniment, as well as psychosocial aspects and undertaking training. In addition, she acts as a crucial link to partners in Honduras and the spanish speaking community.
