Peter Polatin

Dr. Polatin is a psychiatrist, public health physician, and pain medicine specialist. Currently, he is the mental health consultant for the International Rescue Committee in Dallas, Texas, USA and he is also on the faculties of the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, based in Cambridge, Ma., and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. From 2007-2015 he was a senior health program consultant and manager for The Dignity Institute Against Torture, and from 2012-2015 he was a Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Global Mental Health at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He has written extensively about issues involved in refugee mental health, torture, and chronic pain.
